Phrase

Phrase (frasa) adalah kumpulan beberapa kata yang memiliki satu arti kata. Frasa tidak memiliki sabjek dan verb. Biasanya frasa terdiri dari dua kata atau lebih.
Contoh:
A teacher
A good teacher
A good and smart teacher
A good and smart Math teacher
Phrase menjadi tiga bagian, yaitu Noun phrase, Adjective phrase dan Adverb phrase.

Noun Phrase
Yaitu kata yang mengandung arti benda. Noun phrase adalah membahas sebuah benda baik itu countable or uncountable noun yang berfungsi bisa sebagai sabjek ataupun objek. Ada lima ketentuan yang membentuk noun phrase: Article, possessive, Adjective, Adjective, preposition, clause.
Contoh:
Article       = The book - an apple - a teacher
Possessive = My book - her apple - his teacher
Adjective   = Nice book - good apple - new teacher
Preposition = Value of book - nutrition of apple - taught by new teacher
Clause        = The book I buy - The apple they eat - the teacher he hire

Adjective Phrase
Yaitu Phrase yang kata intinya adalah adjective yang berfungsi sebagai complement atau determiner. Ada dua pembentuk adjective phrase: expand the noun/noun determiner and complement.

Expand the noun/noun determiner = Usually tall, very quiet, slim and beautiful
Complement = very interesting, quite small, very poor

Adverb Phrase
Yaitu phrase yang memiliki kata inti adverb (kata keterangan). Fungsi dari phrase adverb sama dengan adverb tunggal pada umumnya.

Contoh:
very soon - very easily - very far
quite soon - quite easy - quite far
