Recount Text

Recount Text is a text used to share experiences or historical story.
Purpose of this text is to tell some events that happened in the past.
Orientation : An introduction that provides the setting and also introduces participant(s).
Events : Account that tells what happened, in a sequence, event 1, event 2, event 3.
The language features :

Focuses on sequence of events that related to the particular occasion.
It introduces specific participants.
Frequently uses Simple Past Tense.
Sometimes uses Past continuous tense.
Temporal Conjunctions are used in sentences to show the events. They are listed below.

Types of recount text :

Personal recount : This type involves the author directly as one of the participants of the story.
Factual recount : This type tells about facts such scientific experiment Report, Police report and news paper report.
Imaginative recount : A recount that tells unreal story like prose and poem.

Example

Eid ul-Fitr

On the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, my family woke up early. First, we prayed together in the mosque and then we ate the special meal prepared by mom and our aunties.

Around 10 a.m., some family members came to visit, and later after lunch we visited all our neighborhood friends. We asked to be forgiven for any transgression days, we went to our grandparent's house. We asked for their forgiveness too, and spent the relaxing time visiting other relatives and nearby tourist sites, such as the beach and amusement park.
